My name is John Matthews. I live in Silverton, B.C. & I operate Idaho Peak Shuttle. I am a professional driver, hold a Class 1 Drivers License with over 28 years experience, & licensed as a ‘Passenger Operator’ with the Province of British Columbia.
Idaho Peak Lookout is a disused Forest Service fire tower situated at an elevation of 2280m (7480 feet) on Silver Ridge above the town sites of New Denver & Silverton overlooking Slocan Lake.
The Peak is renowned for its’ alpine floral displays & magnificent panoramic views. It can be accessed via the old mining town of Sandon by climbing a narrow, winding 12km gravel forest service road. The road can be rough in spots due to high volumes of traffic. It is very narrow in sections, but has pullouts. There are two parking areas. The higher lot is far busier & perhaps has room for 12-14 vehicles depending on their size & how they are parked!
Idaho Peak Shuttle provides a safe & comfortable, stress free transportation alternative with two daily scheduled shuttles from New Denver to the parking lots on Silver Ridge in a Chevrolet Express 3500 10 passenger van. The vehicle is serviced & maintained regularly in accordance with Federal & Provincial regulations.
We are dog friendly & have two carriers available.
O.K. it’s not the views or pretty flowers you are after. Rather it’s the thrill of riding down one of the awesome bike trails. We are equipped with an NSR 4-Bike rack from northshoreracks.com & can drop you off.
Personally I am a “free flyer”, a paraglider pilot. Idaho Peak is my home site & I fly as often as the weather & my time allows. Another great reason to
choose Idaho Peak Shuttle.
