IDAHO PEAK FORESTRY ROAD HAS BEEN CLOSED AGAIN FOR THE 2021 SEASON. THE ROAD STILL HASN’T BEEN REPAIRED MINISTRY IS THINKING MAYBE 2022 DEPENDING ON BUDGETS AND COSTS.
The Idaho peak forestry road has had a huge set back for the 2020 season. The area was hit hard by a storm early June with heavy downpours which lasted for a couple of days. On top of that was the snowmelt waiting for some answers about what might happen with the road but lots […]
3 km from parking areas
Idaho Peak road is OPEN two small patches of snow to drive through flowers already looking awesome lots more to come.Brother and myself hiked to the top of Selkirk Peak and could see absolutely nothing because of the smoke but who cares it was brilliant just getting up to the alpine. Two thumbs up 🙂
Last two patches of snow stopping vehicle traffic.Looking like one more week thinking 14 or 15 of July should be able to get in to the parking lots:)
Snow line is moving like a snail.Hiked in today and Paraglided out.Took me 49 minutes from the start of the snow to get to the Silver Ridge parking Area,Looking like at least Aug 14 and that’s a guess. Lots of people have been coming in,not sure if everyone is making it to the tower.

Snow line is moving but slowly, still only get to 9.5 then start walking. Good news for the mountain bikers,Sundowner, choices,Alamo wagon rd and the H road trails can be ridden. While in the area don’t forget the butter trail.:) Still going to be awhile before you can drive to the parking lots.:(
June 25 still only get to 9km.3km to go just to reach the parking lots, lots of snow still.Definitely looking like second week of July if we are lucky. Keep you posted 🙂
